Jesus taught his disciples to pray and to always pray in faith. Praying in faith is simply taking God at His word and believing that God hears your prayer and will answer them.
The prayer of faith may sound something like this “Heavenly Father in the name of your son Jesus, your word says that you shall supply all of my needs according to your riches and glory by Christ Jesus. Lord I have need for my phone bill to be paid. And I am asking you now to meet this need in my life. I believe that you are faithful to your word to give me all that I need and to pay this bill. I cast the care of this bill over on you and I believe I receive it now paid in Jesus Name. Amen.” Once you have prayed the prayer of faith for your particular situation, you do not have to pray and ask God for it again. Any other prayer concerning the issue should be a prayer of thanksgiving. Thanking God for the answer and praising Him for His promises fulfilled. Whenever you are tempted to pray for the situation again because you feel like God did not hear you and it doesn’t seem as if God is going to come through for you, simply begin to praise God and thank Him for having already answered your prayers. The pressure to give up may come as the enemy begins to bring doubt, fear persecution or other difficulties. But don’t give in to doubt and do not give in to the pressure to let go of your faith. When it seems the darkest continue to stand on the promise of God. Call on the Holy Spirit for strength. Make an external gesture of victory and put a big smile on your face. Open your mouth and thank God for his presence. Open your bible and read your promise over and over again. Put a smile on your face and call a friend and tell them that you have the victory in Christ Jesus and then hang up the phone. Don’t talk about the problem. Hang up the phone and start to talk to the problem. Tell that mountain of debt to be removed and to be cast into the sea. Tell that sickness that it has no place in your body because your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost. Tell that spirit of fear, strife, anger to leave your presence and your situation right now. Even though you may feel like crying, stand on the word, stand in faith and believe that your prayer are answered not matter what it looks like in the natural. Know that it is impossible for God to lie and he will fulfill every promise He made to you if you just stand in faith. For our daily devotional subscribe today at www.lataniamichelle.com. Jesus said to Him “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it; you shall love your neighbor as yourself.” Matthew 22: 37-39
Jesus gave clear instructions as it relates to the priorities of a child of God. The primary focus of our lives once we come into a relationship with God through His Son Jesus Christ is to love God (The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit) with all of our heart, all of our soul and all of our might. The first commandment that God gave Moses and the children of Israel once He released them from Egyptian bondage stated “You shall have no other god before me.” Exodus 20:3. God wanted to be first in the lives of His people. He made it clear to Moses, the children of Israel and to us today that He was to be first in our hearts and first in our lives. Many Christians believe that they are loving God and thus fulfilling this command, but fail to realize that there is a difference from knowing about God and getting to know God. To really love God, requires that you have more than knowledge about Him. Loving God begins with taking the time to become deeply acquainted with Him. Real Love for God will inspire you to get to know His nature, His character, His likes, His dislikes, His temperament and His mindset. This is the reason God created man. God created man to fellowship with Him and to get to know Him intimately. “Hear, O LORD, when I cry with my voice! Have mercy also upon me, and answer me. When you said, “Seek My face,” My heart said to you, “Your face, LORD, I will seek.” Psalm 27:7-8 (New King James) Here the Lord is inviting man to seek His face which means He is inviting him to have close and intimate fellowship with us. David responded by saying “Lord your face, Lord I will seek”. This is the type of response God desires from you today. Knowing God personally and having a one-on-one relationship with Him is the first step in fulfilling your purpose and having victory in every area of your life. Make the decision today to become more intimate with God by seeking His face and learning more about Him. This act of love will give you more peace, joy and fulfillment than you could ever imagine. “..For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” So we may boldly say:“ The LORD is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?” Hebrews 13:5
A few years ago I moved to Atlanta. Although I had a handful of friends there, I was still moving there alone. With no job in sight, limited resources I was relocating to a new city and doing practically everything all by myself. Every day was an adventure of faith. Often I would feel homesick and lonely. I missed my friends, my city, but must of all I missed my family, my daughter and my crazy mixed up family that always there when I needed them. Although I often felt alone, I never gave into the spirit of fear that was constantly tormenting me with tempting thoughts of returning home. During this time I got into the habit of reminding myself that I was never alone. God was with me. When I would drive down the dark country roads, I would sing to myself “Emmanuel, God is with me.” This little song would keep my heart and mind focused on the fact that God, my Heavenly Father was ever present with me. Constantly singing this simple melody throughout the day filled my heart with confidence of God’s presence and it didn’t allow fearful thoughts to paralyze me in the face of challenging situations. Whenever a negative thought would cross my mind, I would immediately begin to sing out loud. “Emmanuel, God is with me. Emmanuel, God is with me.” Sometimes it took seconds, other times minutes and many times several minutes, but the fear would always flee and courage would always come. And I do mean always. There was not one time when I was alone, in an unfamiliar setting or dealing with an uncomfortable situation that the peace of God and his grace did not calm my heart. Not one time. The word of God is “I will not fear what can man do unto me.” If you have turned on the radio or the TV lately you have most likely had fear struck in your heart (and wallet) about the US economy. John 14:12
People are drawn to the supernatural. Watch any television channel, Go to any book store or preview the latest list of movies in the theater. You will find a number of titles about the super natural. Man’s fascination with the paranormal and super human activity draws all ages to be entertained by everything from angels to vampires. The reason for this fascination may be simple: we have been conditioned from birth with beliefs that limit our ability. Deep down inside, man knows that he was born to do great things. Human beings know that they were created for more than a natural existence. This was the message that Jesus Christ came to deliver over two thousand years ago. He came to rescue man from the curse of the law and reintroduce him to God’s original plan for mankind. The purpose of Christ’s ministry was to establish God’s will in the earth and to empower you to do the same. Jesus was the bridge between man living in the natural and man having access to the super natural. While He was on the earth, Christ gave us a glimpse of what it means to be in the Kingdom of God. Jesus lived His life in a way that not only touched His generation but also revealed to us the nature, the character and the supreme power of God that dwells in us. As a believer in Christ, you are not just encouraged to believe in this supernatural power but you are called to walk in it. You are expected to use it. Jesus left us with a remarkable assignment in John 14:12 when he said “….and greater works than these you will do, because I go to My Father.” But He did not leave us with an impossible task without fully equipping us to fulfill it. By giving us His word, His name, His blood and His Holy Spirit, Jesus made sure that we had everything we needed to work miracles, move in the supernatural and be a blessing to the world. The power to supernaturally change, heal, prosper, bless and to restore is available to you today. Not only is it available to you, but it is also available for you to release it into the lives of others. How many times have you turned down an invitation for a networking event because you didn’t know anyone that was going to be there, a singles gathering because you feared no one would talk to you or you stayed home on a Saturday afternoon because you had no one to spend the afternoon with. Well you are not alone. Even in the kingdom of God it is often difficult to meet new people, find people you connect with and even harder to build and maintain quality relationships.
If you have lived for years with unfilled relationships and unaccomplished goals it is time to begin to trust God to move in this area of your life. If you have been looking for partners in your business or personal life God can and will bring them to you if you ask him. If you are looking for ways to be a greater influence on your family and friends it is important to know that God has already prepared the way for your success. All you have to do is ask him for His wisdom and guidance for this area of your life. Then allow the Holy Spirit to live through you to attract the right relationships into your life. People respond to how you behold them in your consciousness. You don’t have to say anything they can sense how you perceive them. People flocked to Jesus because he did not see them as black or white, rich or poor. He saw them as bothers and sisters. He beheld them. So, start today look at others through the eyes of Christ. Begin to ask God to show you how to “behold” so that you can draw to yourself those He has already designed to be a blessing to you. |
